Happy Birthday, Betsey

Today is the 90th birthday of

Betsey Elizabeth Williams

Happy Birthday, Betsey!

Betsey is our neighbor and friend. She is a truly amazing woman with a great love of life and living it fully. We celebrated last Saturday with an open house in her honor. She's very good with her hands and the displays of her creations shows the great variety of her talents.

She wove the basket, made the beads from rose petals, wrote and bound the books, made the wood-worked toy and doll.

She painted this beautiful oil painting

She pounded the teakettle and plate out of sheets of brass. The scale models houses are of the home she was raised in and the home she raised her children in. She also has made beautiful things with the German craft of scherenschnitte

Betsy bought the blue raw silk in China and then made this beautiful dress. Behind is an example of her quilting skills.

Betsy is an example to all who know her of being anxiously engaged in good things throughout her long life.

She is one amazing woman. I am glad you honored her even though it meant lots of work on the RS presidency part.
