The Happiest Place on Earth

We're off to Disneyland tomorrow for a week of fun with 13 of my favorite people! (we'll miss you, Alan) I'm sure I'll have great pictures next week - check back!

Happy Anniversary, Mary and Logan!

April 11th was Mary and Logan's sixth anniversary and the perfect opportunity for a "Nanajan day." I had fun tending Sophie and Ayden on Friday afternoon/evening while Mary and Logan had an anniversary date. They are just the cutest and we have quite the mutual admiration society. It's so fun that Sophie now knows me and I wish I had a dime for every time she said "Nana" in the few hours we were together! It's so much easier to be with her now that she understands language and can communicate. Ayden is a sweetie and we had fun reading books together. He's an obedient boy and so pleasant to be with. The joys of grandmothering!

Conference Weekend

Jenny and Trevor enjoying Conference from the red chair

I had a wonderful conference weekend. I usually putter about the house during conference, listening (since we have TVs in every room) as I go from room to room trying to accomplish things. But this year I really just sat down and listened to each session and it was lovely. I had my journal and scriptures close by and I crocheted a couple of baby blankets since keeping my hands busy keeps my eyes open!

It was great to have Jenny and Trevor join us on Sunday, as well as Brian and Anna (sorry no picture) and Michael, of course. And it was really nice to go to a yummy family dinner at Mom and Dad's after conference!

JPR Design

I have big news to post today. Those of you who know me well know that I love interior design. It is a talent of mine and a passion of mine.

As I have been raising my children, interior design has been a hobby. Well, it is about to go from a hobby to a career! I am happy to announce that Rich and I are launching a new business called JPR Design, with a focus on design for custom homes. In order to give JPR Design our best combined effort, Rich has resigned from his job and will manage the business, leaving me free to focus on the creative side. To provide initial funding for the business, we have sold our home and have purchased a smaller home in Springville, Utah, Rich’s hometown. (I hope Michael won’t mind being a Springville Red Devil basketball player!)

On a personal note, I’m so grateful for Rich’s willingness to make changes in his life to further my lifelong dream—even to the point of giving up his calling as bishop of our ward.

We are currently negotiating for office space in Provo. There will be more details later. But I can’t tell you how excited I am about this new adventure!
