I'm grateful that the groundhog saw his shadow and we have six more weeks of winter, because six more weeks of winter equals:
six more weeks of skiing!

It is also Candlemas Day. According to the gospel of Luke, Mary and Joseph took the baby Jesus to the Temple in Jerusalem forty days after his birth to complete Mary's ritual purification after childbirth and to perform the redemption of the firstborn in obedience to the Law of Moses. It's been forty days since Christmas, a nice day to remember.
